THE GROVE AT MANKATO

The Grove at Mankato is a 524-unit multifamily community that was built in four phases from 1973 to 2016. The community is strategically located less than a mile away from Minnesota State University, Mankato and attracts students as well as young professionals living in Mankato. The property is currently undergoing a substantial renovation to the common areas and amenities, including a new clubhouse area, state of the art fitness center, resort style pool, and dog park.

Jeff Lambert
Senior VP,  Development

Jeff Lambert, Senior Vice President of Development, joined Kingsbarn Capital & Development in August 2022. Mr. Lambert is responsible for the construction oversight of new development projects.  He has over 27 years of experience with construction oversight consisting of front-end ROM’s, design review and V.E., contract negotiations, construction QA/QC, scheduling and close out. Jeff has overseen the overall development process for 7 years and the construction for new developments for 27 years. His experience includes residential, commercial, and semi-conductor construction and development.  Prior to Kingsbarn Capital & Development, he was an SVP of Development at Essex Property Trust, Sr. Project Manager at SEG Corporation, A.D. Seeno Development, Legacy Partners Commercial, and Intel.  He graduated with a B.A. in Design from the University of California Los Angeles in 1995.

Brendan Murphy
Development Manager

Brendan is a Development Manager responsible for the acquisition, planning, development, construction, and operations of various real estate investments across asset classes.  Prior to joining Kingsbarn, Brendan worked as a development manager for Nevada HAND, the largest affordable housing developer and operator in the State of Nevada.  While there, he managed numerous land acquisitions, multifamily and mixed-use developments, infill redevelopments, and value add projects in the greater Las Vegas MSA.  Additionally, Brendan was responsible for asset managing portfolio debt maturities with extensive experience in Freddie, Fannie, and bank financing.
After graduating from the United States Military Academy West Point with a B.A. in Management, Brendan became a commissioned officer in the United States Army.  Brendan served six years as an officer with the rank of Captain in the 101st Airborne Division and 1st Infantry Division.  After serving in the Army, Brendan went on to pursue advanced studies and graduated from Georgetown University with a Master’s in Real Estate.

Gerri Shaw
Executive Assistant

Gerri Shaw is an administrative professional with experience in multiple industries, including finance, healthcare and non-profit. She has demonstrated success in strategic planning, operations, project management, customer service and human resources.
With over 25 years of successfully working and communicating with C-level executives and key stakeholders, Gerri has made integrity, trust, and attention to detail an integral part of her role, making her an important member of the Kingsbarn team.

Jimmy Warren
Investment & Development Associate

As an Investment & Development Associate, Jimmy Warren is responsible for analyzing investment and development opportunities. Jimmy brings a wide array of knowledge and experience from several sectors of the commercial real estate industry.
Prior to Kingsbarn, Jimmy worked at Rialto Capital, where he managed a portfolio of REO assets throughout the Western half of the United States. He was also responsible for underwriting new and existing CMBS loans throughout the Country. Jimmy began his career at Altus Group, where he was an integral part of the valuation team engaged to manage the valuation process on behalf of institutional asset managers. Jimmy received his BA in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.

John Stack
VP, Development Manager

John Stack has spent more than 20-years in the real estate industry and experienced in land acquisition, land development, construction management, property management and civil engineering. As Vice President of Kingsbarn Capital and Development, John is responsible for the company’s ground-up development and infill redevelopment projects.
Prior to joining Kingsbarn, John was VP of Development at a private development company in San Francisco where he managed open-air shopping centers, multifamily, mixed use and student housing developments in California, New York, North Carolina, and Oregon.
John began his career as a civil engineer in Orlando Florida as a senior project engineer designing master planned commercial and single-family home developments. He worked with notable companies including Disney, Universal Studios Orlando and Tupperware International. He later joined Toll Brothers and managed multi phased developments in the Orlando and Jacksonville areas. John received his BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

Ray Jones - JD
General Counsel

Ray Jones serves as General Counsel for Kingsbarn, with primary oversight over all legal matters. As General Counsel, Ray brings over 20 years’ experience engaged in a sophisticated commercial real estate, finance, and securities practice advising owners, lenders, developers, and sponsors in the acquisition, disposition, development, financing, and syndication of myriad property types, including retail, office, medical, industrial, condominium, condominium-hotel, single and multi-family residential, and mixed-use properties, as well as master-planned communities. In addition, Ray has advised clients on a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, business structuring, business immigration, and cross-border transactions. Ray has assisted his clients acquire and develop billions of dollars’ worth of real estate. 
Prior to joining Kingsbarn, Ray was a Partner and Counsel with two AmLaw 200 law firms and worked as Regional Counsel for one of the largest publicly-traded homebuilders in the United States. 

Phil Mader
President

As Chief Investment Officer of Kingsbarn and President of Kingsbarn Capital & Development, Phil brings over 30-years of experience in real estate development, investment management, acquisitions, multifamily development, homebuilding, land development and urban planning. Phil has deep experience as an investor, developer and operator for prominent international and domestic private equity, homebuilding and multifamily firms.
Phil has held executive positions at Black-Rock, Taylor Woodrow Homes, Prometheus Real Estate Group, and Essex Property Trust. As a former Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager for BlackRock, the world’s largest investment management firm, Phil led and managed the Residential Fund of $400+ Million and the firm’s U.S. Land and Housing Strategy. Under his management, it achieved the highest returns of BlackRock’s closed-ended, full-cycle, real estate funds.
Phil has a proven business acumen focused on leadership, business and investment analysis and strategy, and execution. He has directed the overall development of 37 single family and multifamily communities, spread across 7,000+ lots, homes, condominiums and apartments, valued at over $2 billion.

Jeff Pori
CEO

Mr. Pori is a real estate entrepreneur, investor, and founder of Kingsbarn Realty Capital (“Kingsbarn”) and its various structured investment programs. Jeff oversees all aspects of the company, from implementing Kingsbarn’s strategic initiatives to managing its day-to-day operations and directing all property financings and acquisitions. His 33-year career in commercial real estate has been as an investor and principal involved in construction, development, syndications, joint ventures, finance and property operations.
Prior to Kingsbarn, Mr. Pori was the founder and principal of Transwestern Real Estate Capital (“TREC”), where he completed 25 syndicated private placements totaling more than $400 million of commercial properties throughout the United States. Jeff’s background before TREC was as the developer of more than 100 commercial and multi-family properties and more than 1,000 single family homes in the Las Vegas valley. Additionally, Jeff was responsible for the oversight and management of a property portfolio totaling more than 2,000 apartment units, most of which were developed utilizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, and 30 commercial properties which included retail centers, office parks, and industrial facilities. Mr. Pori received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo.
